How the recommendation is worked out
Chest and waist carry the most signal for garment sizing, so the calculator weights chest at 70% and waist at 30%, normalises each against a gendered baseline, then shifts the result by your fit preference — slim pulls down a half size, relaxed pushes up a half size. The final number maps onto the XS–XXL scale.
How to measure correctly
Measure over light clothing with a soft tape held level and snug but not tight. Chest or bust: around the fullest part, tape flat across the back. Waist: around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel. Stand relaxed and breathe out normally — holding your stomach in gives a size that will not fit.
Why sizing drives returns
Wrong size is consistently the single largest cause of apparel returns, and every return costs return shipping, restocking labour and often the margin on the order entirely. Giving shoppers a measurement-based recommendation before they buy removes most of that guesswork, and shoppers who use a fit finder also tend to be more confident buyers.
Sizes still vary between brands
There is no universal apparel standard, so a medium in one label can be a large in another. Treat this as a strong starting point, then check the specific garment's measurements. On a real store the calculator is tuned to that brand's own grading, which is what makes it accurate rather than approximate.

How accurate is this size calculator?
It gives a reliable starting size from your measurements, but apparel sizing is not standardised across brands. On a live store we tune the calculation to that brand's actual size grading, which is what makes it precise.
Can I use inches instead of centimetres?
Yes. The units toggle switches every input between metric and imperial and converts internally, so the recommendation is identical either way.
What if I'm between two sizes?
Consider what the garment is. Structured items like blazers and shirts are usually better sized up; stretch fabrics and knitwear are usually fine sized down. The fit preference control shifts the recommendation in either direction.
