How to measure your wrist
Wrap a soft tape measure — or a strip of paper you can measure afterwards — around your wrist just below the wrist bone, where you would normally wear a watch. Keep it snug against the skin without compressing it. That circumference is the number the calculator needs.
Sizing for comfort
A bracelet should sit close but move freely, which usually means adding around 1 to 2 cm to your bare wrist measurement for a comfortable fit, or as little as 0.5 cm for a snug one. Watch straps are different: they are sized so the case sits flat on top of the wrist, so the strap should hold the watch in place without leaving a mark.
Bangles need a different measurement
A rigid bangle has to pass over your hand, not just around your wrist. Tuck your thumb into your palm as if putting one on, and measure around the widest part of your hand. That hand measurement, not the wrist one, decides which bangle size will go on.
Strap width is a separate number
Length and width are independent. The width is set by your watch's lug gap — the distance between the two points where the strap attaches — measured in millimetres, commonly 18, 20 or 22. A strap has to match that gap exactly, whatever your wrist size.
